November 6, 2008Hello to All!
As I write today, I sense that Martin Luther King & Rosa Parks must be dancing... this is definitely a moment in history that few of us will forget, whether we are American citizens or not... whether we voted for Obama or not... this moment of his election to the US Presidency will be marked in history books as a monumental turning point. Yes, we are all exhausted from long months of campaign rhetoric, anxiety about the economy, on & on... and so I might suggest that NOW it's time to breathe deeply, hope largely, & get OUT THERE for some fun & some music before the holidays & the swearing in of a new US President become a fast-paced blur... hence, I remind you of upcoming shows as follows:

NOVEMBER 7 / FRIDAY / BEBE'S BURRITOS / BIDDEFORD ME / 6:30 PM / 207-283-4222... most of y'all know about this place, as it's become a fave of mine. Great Mexican fare, Ritas, & most anything you could ever want, including a fun decor & a friendly staff.. and OH! I play early! 6:30PM start... 'til about 10PM. NOVEMBER 8 / SULLIE'S PUB & GRILLE / WATERBORO ME / 8PM / 207-247-8999... this will be my first time performing @ Sullie's... I went here to listen to a pal of mine during the summer months & got a really good vibe on the place. I figure... good vibe, close to home, wintah comin' in... sounds like a win/win situation... hope to see a bunch of you checkin' this one out... if it feels good, I'll do more gigs here through the cold months for sure... check out who else is playing [here]... an awesome list of players in my estimation.
NOVEMBER 14 / ALFREDO'S / WELLS ME / 6:30PM / 207-646-1718... if you've never heard of/been to Alfredo's Pizzeria in Wells you need to hang here for a bit. The folks that run this place are "the real deal"... Joan & Al are one of the most passionate, friendly couples I have met in a long while... I just love playing here because they love & nurture the place... OH! And then there's the pizza! Yummy... whatever you want... they even have spelt crust if you are trying to be ever so healthy & wheat free. Easy to find right off the Maine Turnpike (wells Exit).
NOVEMBER 15 / THE SCHOOL AROUND US CRAFTS FAIR / KENNEBUNK ME / 1PM / 207-967-3143... at the High School... this is a fundraiser for "The School Around Us"... I performed at the 2008 Annual July Crafts Fair that these folks put together (outdoors in the village square) & I was quite impressed & honored to be part of... many students & parents are involved in these events... check their website [here].
2. BOOKING AHEAD (INTO 2009)
JANUARY 24 / SATURDAY / ONE LONGFELLOW SQUARE / PORTLAND ME / 8PM... I just HAVE to tell you about this show in January... I'm psyched not only 'cos it's a really cool space... but also 'cos I'm splitting the bill with one of the 3 gals that performed with me at the Waterville Opera House (in Maine) in July... which (if you hadn't heard) was a definite highlight in many lives this summer, including MINE! Rachel Griffin will play a full set of tunes on piano before I take the stage! She is one fun dudette with some great lyrics & some cool moves on the keyboards... & One Longfellow Square is one of the best listening rooms in southern Maine... so book ahead for seats as they are limited on purpose for your listening pleasure. From here in New England as the days get shorter & the holidays creep closer, I wish you all good health & some stress free time with friends & family...
