"Clark's music is right up there with her mentors. Joni, Rickie and Bonnie, move over. Make room for Anni ..." - NEW ENGLAND PERFORMER MAGAZINE
Hello to All! Hope you all had a safe holiday season with lots of love & laughter to feed your souls. I have 4 shows only this month, 3 in Maine, 1 in NH... so this will be short & sweet, in this order: 1. SHORT LIST (dates, location, time only) 2. TARGET LIST (more details) 3. CURRENT CEREBRAL WANDERINGS (PHOTO included!) 4. PERFORMANCE SCHEDULE 1. SHORT LIST (dates, location, time only) FRI, JAN. 6 / JJ's / OOB ME / 6:30PM FRI, JAN 20 / OCEAN PIZZA / OOB ME / 7PM FRI, JAN 27 / SARGE'S / SACO ME / 7PM SAT, JAN 28 / SHOVEL HANDLE PUB / JACKSON NH / 4:30PM 2. TARGET LIST (more details) FRIDAY / JANUARY 6 / JJ'S EATERY TOO / OLD ORCHARD BEACH ME / 6:30PM / 207-934-0222... This is my back yahd, local cullah gig, the first Friday of every month! I'm always there with bells on. I still really dig the casual atmosphere, the very affordable food & beverage menu & the true spunk of all the staff... I feel like part of the family. JJ's is real close to the Pier... right next door to "Pier Fries" & the railroad tracks... Here's the [link]. FRIDAY / JANUARY 20 / OCEAN PIZZA / OOB ME / 7PM / 207-934-2900... Ocean Pizza sounds like a little diner thing doesn't it? It's not... there's a take out spot in the front, sure 'nough... but the dining room is really warm, woody & comfy, with a bar & music on Friday nights... & GET THIS: the only music allowed is (drum roll please...) ORIGINAL MUSIC! I am a shoe in for this spot. Pam, the owner, is a petite fiery lady straight outta Italy with some of her Grandma's great recipes tucked up under her sleeve. This is another splendid specimen of a local family run business with something unique to offer. Here's their [facebook page]. FRIDAY / JANUARY 27 / SARGE'S / SACO ME / 7PM / 207-284-1299... OK, so this guy I know buys a restaurant/bar (no joke)... he runs it successfully for about 10 years. Then one day, I am sitting @ JJ's in OOB & the phone rings @ the bar. It's this guy... he wants to know when Anni Clark is playing @ JJ's... turns out I know this guy from VT since 1981 & I had NO IDEA it was Sarge from VT who bought this place in Saco 10 years ago! Holy Cow. So now I HAVE to perform here... it's just the natural thing to do! The folks & the food here bring back the same patrons & new ones repeatedly. Check 'em out [here]. SATURDAY / JANUARY 28 / SHOVEL HANDEL PUB @ WHITNEY'S INN / JACKSON NH / 4:30PM / 603-383-8916... DON'T let the word "Pub" fool you! The space I play in is a big ole barn at the base of Black Mountain which sits on top of a long hill above the quaint & beautiful Jackson village. It's rustic & lovely & the folks who run the place are really sweet. The food is top notch, so plan on eating well during my performance... I play an apres ski set... 4:30 to 8PM. Check 'em out [here]. back to top 3. CURRENT CEREBRAL WANDERINGS (PHOTO included!) I am so blessed to have a wide circle of friends & family who make my life sweeter, easier to figure out when things get a bit hectic or hard. Like many others, the holiday season can make me stumble or shine, depending on... everything. This year, I made myself a promise to get out there & enjoy the brilliant lights of downtown Portland ME (3 or 4 times, actually... see photo below)... to spend time with friends that often get put on the "we need to get together soon list"... to be in touch with family as often as possible, meeting up for a couple hours here or for a day there (including Christmas Day, of course)... to make my house sparkle with Christmas cheer, fill the fridge with lots of goodies & invite people over as often as possible... to spend time up on Moosehead Lake (Maine) with Eric (my better half) for 4 nights, including New Year's Eve & New Year's Day... (weirdly, in all the years I've been going up there for New Year's, this is the 1st time EVER that the lake wasn't frozen)... & to get outside whenever possible to breathe fresh air & feel nature on my skin. I even snuck in a bunch of Anni shows during the month of December, all of them fun & well attended. Thusly, as we turn the corner into 2012, I am filled up with good cheer at having made the most out of the season at hand.
I am now poised to slow down a tad, get back to the gym more regularly & look forward to making more good choices for new seasons ahead. I have some great musical opportunities blossoming that should make for some fun times this year. As always, I appreciate your staying in tune with me via these e-mails & otherwise. I'll be hoping to see y'all at some shows (or wherever!) in coming months... I'll keep you posted along the way. Travel safely. Peace,
